A "Transformers" movie will always feature the good robots, the Autobots, fighting some kind of evil machine, typically the villainous Decepticons, but, as is tradition in the Michael Bay films, there also has to be a human threat for the main characters to manage.
For "Transformers 4," Bay has enlisted the most dastardly bad guy from "The Simpsons" universe, Sideshow Bob himself, Kelsey Grammer. The "Frasier" and "Boss" star will play a man by the name of Harold Attinger, who according to the initial report from Deadline is a "counter intelligence guy."
Casting for the fourth installment in the ever-popular action series is now underway, and Grammer is the fifth actor cast in the last few months. The first official word on casting came when Bay revealed that he would be reteaming with his "Pain & Gain" star, Mark Wahlberg, for the start of a new "Transformers" trilogy.
Grammer also joins Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz, the film's two young leads, and Stanley Tucci, who signed on in April to an undisclosed role.
"Transformers 4" is scheduled to open in theaters on June 27, 2014, and some of the film will be shot using the new IMAX 3D cameras. The previous film in the series, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," made over $1 billion at the global box office in 2011.
