It seems like two things are required for "Real World Portland" roommates Jordan and Nia to blow up at each other: booze and nudity. Although both look fab in their undies, what happens when they get drunk together is often not as attractive.
Play fights quickly turn to real fights when under the influence, and that's exactly what went down tonight, as the two went from giggling, to cereal-spitting, to Jordan making monkey sounds while Nia brandished a lamp. Yeah. That happened. According to MTV's Half of Us, if alcohol leads to repeated dangerous behaviors or interpersonal problems, it may be time to check yo' self. And forget the intentional lamp fights! Every year, 600,000 students between 18 and 24 are unintentionally injured while drunk.
So what's the solution? As roomie Anastasia put it, "If alcohol wasn't in this equation, it wouldn't have ended like this." Sometimes, the solution is as easy not drinking...or, ya know, drinking smart. Those last few drinks we down just for kicks are way too often the ones that lead to embarrassment, punches, regrets, and scenes from this week's episode.
It also helps not to drink when you're upset. Even if you don't fight anyone, nobody wants to be that guy sulking in the corner or that girl crying in the bathroom. If, try as you might, trouble always finds you, learn to walk away. When trouble happens to be wearing sexy underwear, enjoy the view as it walks away from you!
Oh, and about Jordan's monkey noises -- stay tuned. Watch the "Real World" drama unfold on MTV every Wednesday night at 10/9c, and take action below for helpful drinking resources.
