Cancer is not funny -- it's stupid. This is something Kaylin, one of the stars of "World of Jenks," knows all too well. If you've followed her journey this season, you know Kaylin is a talented fashion designer and writer who also happens to be a cancer survivor.
We've watched as Kaylin struggled to move across the country to find work in fashion, adjust to life without health insurance and come to terms with the fact that her cancer could come back. Kaylin's cancer did come back. And that really makes us want to give cancer the finger. Thanks to a new campaign from MTV, we'll all now be able to do just that.
Starting today (April 30), MTV is launching an Instagram campaign to show Kaylin how much we support her and that we're all on her to side to kick cancer's ass for the third time. All you need to do to participate is paint your middle fingernail a color -- or a cool design if you're talented like that! -- and post the picture to Instagram. Use the hashtag #FCancer so we can track the pictures. Our favorite fan submissions will be featured in a photo gallery on WorldOfJenks.MTV.com!
Andrew Jenks has long been drawn to Kaylin's story. This past weekend, he was honored with the 2013 Stupid Cancer Social Impact Award with Kaylin beside him at the 6th Annual OMG! Cancer Summit, the largest young adult cancer event of it's kind in the world. Congratulations Jenks! With a simple Instagram photo, you can let Kaylin, Jenks and everyone else fighting this horrible disease know you're with them.
Spread the word and share your images on Facebook and Twitter, too, so other cancer survivors know that they're not alone in their journey.
