Dear Justin Bieber,
Happy 19th birthday! You've really grown on me. I once wore a shirt with your face on it to be an ironic (yet overly cliché) hipster, but now I wear it 'cause I actually like you.
And your song with Drake? Swag. Your songs usually make me wanna dance alone in my room, but "Right Here" makes me wanna invite someone over and do another kinda dance, if yaknowwhatimean. Selena knows what I mean.
The cool thing about "Right Here" is it could be about anything. I mean, I know it's about girls, but the message of being there to hold and protect someone is something people of all sexes in all situations can relate to. And do you know who really needs you to be "Right Here" for them? Some of the biggest Beliebers from all over the world.
So here's a crazy idea: why not make your "Right Here" video for them? Your work with Pencils of Promise has helped build schools all over the globe, and you could shoot the vid in one or more of those schools. The context of the lyrics, "I'm right here. Ain't nobody gon' control ya," would change depending on the challenges kids in each area face. In one school, you could be "Right Here" for kids who are bullied at school. In another, you could be singing to child soldiers who are controlled by heartless adults and kept from an education. As much as I love your usual moon walk and G-rated make out scenes, I'd love it even more if a video about helping kids in need got hundred million views…and you're the only man who can do it. Basically, I think it's time to "Pray" again... "Right Here," right now.
