Jaden Smith has taken on the mantle of a full-blown action star in the latest trailer for director M. Night Shymalan's newest film "After Earth." The young star will once again teaming up with dear old dad, Will, when "After Earth" hits theaters on June 7.
The sci-fi action movie tells the story of a father and a son, Cypher (Will) and Kitai Raige (Jaden), who crash land on Earth a millennia after the rest of humanity has evacuated it.

"After Earth" marks the younger Smith's first movie since 2010's "Karate Kid" was a surprise hit at the box office, totaling $176.5 million worldwide. You'll no doubt notice that Smith has gone through — let's say — some changes in the intervening years and is beginning to take on the look of a leading man with an uncanny resemblance to his father. This film will be Smith's first attempt at headlining a summer tentpole film.
Director M. Night Shyamalan is coming off a break that last just as long, and he arguably has the most to lose or gain with "After Earth." Though his previous film, "The Last Airbender," took in $131.7 million worldwide, his critical reputation and recent domestic grosses have suffered greatly.
