There's still plenty to be done for Hurricane Sandy relief, and there are many organizations making a huge difference in affected areas. Aside from MTV's "Restore the Shore" efforts with Architecture for Humanity, here are a few other initiatives you can get involved with.

United Way is seeking money for Sandy relief, and donations will go to local United Ways in the hit areas. Specifically, they will go to help locations that have been called disaster areas by FEMA. The website suggests different donation amounts, starting at $10, but you're also able to enter a specific amount.

New York City is one of the places really hit bad by Hurricane Sandy, and the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City is concentrating on getting the metropolis back in shape. The fund is helping people with super important immediate things, like food and water. If you heart NY, this is a great place to donate money and supplies.

We all know that Hurricane Sandy did major damage to the state of New Jersey. It will donate $10 to the Humane Society, which is the country's biggest animal protection org.

From the organizers of Occupy Wall Street comes Occupy Sandy. If you want to roll up your sleeves and personally volunteer with many other dedicated individuals, check out Occupy Sandy. You can fill out a registration form to volunteer, and the site updates you on what's needed. It'll let you know if specific areas especially need volunteers and what supplies are still needed and what they have enough of.

The Red Cross is pretty much your go-to place for a natural disaster like this. Probably the easiest thing to do is text REDCROSS to 90999. That will donate $10 and funds get spread out across the area. The Red Cross says on its site that "a gift of any size supports the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross," so don't feel bad if you can't give a lot. Every little bit counts.
