Gun violence continues to be a hot topic, and President Obama didn't back down from the debate during a Colorado speech Wednesday -- a day after Snoop Lion premiered his music video for "No Guns Allowed" featuring Drake and Cori B. In a newly released behind-the-scenes clip, Snoop and Drake explain the video and what made them want to make such a powerful statement.

"What I did was, I wanted to create a song strong enough to catch the attention of people to let them know that we do care in the hip-hop community," Snoop shared on the set. "We don't like what's going on with all these unnecessary shootings."

As of this posting, 3,293 Americans have lost their life to gun violence since December's Sandy Hook incident. In that tragic event, an elementary school teacher's 20-year-old son killed 20 schoolchildren and 6 adults at her school of employment. Since then, many Hollywood stars have come out strongly in support of gun control -- but none as thought-provoking and boundary-breaking as Snoop and Drake.

"It was more than just my life, it was for our entire city [of Toronto]," Drake added. "I just sort of tried to paint a picture and looked at this as an opportunity to share something with my generation."

In the behind-the-scenes clip, Drake goes on to explain how a recent incident hit close to home after a good friend lost a loved one in a shooting that injured 20 in Toronto. Get a glimpse of the video shoot and hear more from Snoop Lion and Drake about their thoughts on guns in America today in the video below.

What's better than one Beyoncé? A whoooole lotta Beyoncés! The diva, who I think is aging backwards, dances with mirrored versions of herself in a new Pepsi ad set to her upcoming single "Grown Woman." But some people aren't happy with Beyoncé's $50 million Pepsi endorsement deal.

It's not the money they're jelly of, but the fact that selling soda sorta contradicts her work with First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" fitness campaign. Watch the vid above, then check out why I still think Bey is a First Lady of fitness.

+ Treat Yourself

When trying to get or stay fit, dietitians say it's important to treat yourself every once in a while. Whether your treat of choice is a can of Pepsi or a piece of pie, occasionally indulging will keep you from binging, or feeling totally restricted and then quitting your diet altogether. It's like the day I ate nothing but salad...then demolished and entire pizza at two in the morning 'cause I was SO. FRIGGIN'. HUNGRY.

+ Portion Control

It's not like Beyoncé chugged an entire Big Gulp. It's just a can of soda, and in a court of law, one wouldn't even be able to prove that she had the whole thing. Not guilty! According to the Mayo Clinic, portion control is an important part of any healthy diet. Learn how to eat the right amounts of the right foods -- and even the right amounts of the wrong ones! I guess I didn't need to eat that whole pizza...

+ Werk It!

I'm pretty sure Beyoncé burned off an entire case of soda in the making of her Pepsi commercial. The real offenders are those of us who are sitting at our computers watching the commercial! According to the First Lady's Let's Move campaign, "eight to 18 year old adolescents spend an average of 7.5 hours a day using entertainment media including TV, computers, video games, cell phones and movies." If you must watch Beyoncé all day, "Move Your Body" to this:

We've known director Neil Blomkamp has been working on "Elysium," his follow-up to "District 9," for years now, but still know relatively little about the movie. It's due in theaters on August 9, and two new photos have been released that show us more than just Matt Damon running around in a funny suit — finally.

The images were published by San Paulo newspaper Illustrada and introduce fans to Wagner Moura and Alice Braga's characters for the first time. The paper also elaborates on who the characters they're playing are, which you can find out after the jump.

"Moura plays Spider, a mixture of revolutionary hacker and human smuggler: he illegally transporting people for Elysium, a 'paradise' built in Earth orbit where the wealthy live the future," the descriptions reads, via Bleeding Cool. "Matt Damon makes Max, a workman that needs to reach Elysium in an attempt to save his life, and Spider is their only way out."

It continues, "Alice Braga live Frey, a childhood friend of Max. The two were raised together in an orphanage, but followed different paths. Frey realized his dream of becoming a nurse and had a daughter. When Max finds, years later, old feelings come back to haunt the woman."

A trailer for "Elysium" still hasn't been released, but hopefully it will expand on this interesting sci-fi world that we've been teased about for so long. Here's the movie's official synopsis:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

If the warmer weather is making you want to get out and exercise, I've got a great idea for you. From now until the end of June you can sign up for the Run the World campaign to help girls receive an education!

She's the First, which we recently highlighted in a story about Malala, is putting on this campaign, and they're hoping to raise $50,000. Why is it so important? In the developing world, less than 33% of girls make it to secondary school, and most of them are forced to drop out. But when girls are educated, they become empowered and independent, and it helps relieve the cycle of poverty.

To get involved, you can run in a race or get a fundraiser going. You'll create a CauseVox fundraising page to earn your money, but don't be intimidated if you're not sure how to do it. The steps are explained. The campaign also gives you resources on how to fundraise, and if you're not an athlete, it has tips of other ways you can support.

A number of Girl Power runners have already signed themselves up, including Elizabeth Rich, who will be doing her first half-marathon up a mountain to raise her goal amount. A lot of us might say, "Why go up a mountain? That's so steep!" But a lot of girls have to go up mountains or through difficult territory to go to school. These girls want to graduate, and with a little bit of exercise, you can help them become the first in their families to do so!

2013 is the first year in U.S. history that we have two presidents at once! President Barack Obama and Kid President, 9-year-old Robby Novak, recently met up in the Oval Office to chat about telephones, history, and how kids and grown-ups can work together to make the world a better place. Dare ya not to smile!

In between laughs, here's what we learned from POTUS and the "self-appointed voice of a generation":

+ There Was Life Before Telephones

"Telegraph, what's a telegraph?" Soooo cute, but HOLD UP. Are telegraphs no longer part of the 3rd grade curriculum? Do history books just start with the 1st generation iPhone? Am I THAT old?! "Before there were phones; before there was the internet; before there was YouTube," explains Obama,"There was the telegraph. And that's how you'd communicate from far away." But how did people share filtered pics of their lattes?! Life is so sad when I can't show the world every single thing I eat and drink every day! Let's not get toooo outta hand though. + Obama's Fave President is Abraham Lincoln

We learn that Obama's favorite president is Abe Lincoln, although he doesn't clarify if it's because he freed the slaves or because he had awesome facial hair. Join mtvU's Against Our Will and take action against modern-day slavery.

+ We've Gotta Stop Bullying

Kid Prez came prepared with an important question: "How can kids and grown-ups work together to change the world?" According to Obama, the key is to stop bullying. "The most important thing we can all do is to treat each other with kindness and respect," says POTUS. "Kids can learn right away -- in school and on the playground -- to be nice to each other."

Obama also stresses the importance of stepping in when we see someone being bullied. "If you see a kid being picked on, you make sure you stand up for him. And you treat everybody fairly no matter what they look like or where they're from. And if you start learning to do that as kids, and everybody's respectful of each other and nice to each other, then whey they grow up, they'll be doing the same thing and we'll have a lot fewer problems." Kid President's response? A simple and dignified, "Yeah." I know who I'm voting for in 30 years!

There's an epic battle waging right now, and you may have no idea. Earlier this week, MTV News announced that a new category at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, Best Hero, would be decided by your tweets and Instagram photos.

Well, the tweets and pics have been rolling in, and two warriors of social media have risen to the top: Snow White and Bilbo Baggins.

The fantastical combatants have risen far above Iron Man, Batman, Catwoman, and the Hulk, but they're now fighting for that top spot. Snow White currently holds onto a strong lead, but Bilbo is right behind, so keep voting to see who takes it all on April 14 at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT.

As movie fans, we've gotten used to seeing stars step out in varying states of transformation for roles. Recently we've seen Christian Bale with a comb-over and Reese Witherspoon as a brunette. But nothing could've prepared us for Bradley Cooper's new look, which he debuted this week.

A perm.

Yes, a real honest-to-goodness perm. The highly processed, gel-smothered, crunchy-to-the-touch hairstyle that ranked supreme in the 1980s is back and living on the head of the Sexiest Man Alive. Spotted on the set of a new David O. Russell film, Bradley Cooper borrowed a page from adolescent girls of yesteryear and went full-fledged fake curly.

But the part that's truly shocking about the resurgence of the perm is that...well, it actually looks kinda good. Even in the heyday of big hair, experts would agree that a permanent (as it's scientifically known) only looked attractive on approximately 1 out of every 500 people (plus the entire cast of "Heathers").

Which leads us to believe that Bradley Cooper is follicle-ly gifted. To test this hypothesis, we suggest that the Hangover star submit to rigorous, (and yes, totally unnecessary) testing to see what other throwback styles he can pull off. Might we suggest the following:

David Bowie's Goblin King Mullet from "Labyrinth" – The spiky mullet made sense when paired with excessive eyeshadow and a penchant for kidnapping children.

Christian Slater's Skater Coif from "Gleaming the Cube" – Ok, this is really just the Labyrinth look with the bottom snipped off.

Christopher Reid's Eraserhead from "House Party" – Coop's gonna need lots and lots of hairspray for this one.

Johnny Depp's Bad Boy Bouffant from "Cry-Baby" – That single tendril hanging over the eyes is really the masculine version of bangs.

Kevin Bacon's Finger-in-an-Outlet Style from "Footloose" – He just wanted to DANCE! You can literally see that energy radiating from Bacon's scalp.

As "The Voice" said bu-bye to last season's mentors Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, a fresh new season was born with the addition of Shakira and Usher! Not only are these two beyond talented -- Usher's footwork! Shak's belly dancing! -- but both are powerful philanthropists making an impact around the world.

First off, Usher is a brilliant choice as a new mentor for the show. I mean, he onlyyy discovered Justin Bieber... When the Grammy winner isn't mentoring talent during his new gig on "The Voice," he dedicates himself to mentoring kids through his foundation, Usher's New Look. His charity was founded in 1999 in order to step in and create a 'new look' for so many teens across the country! Since his launch, his org has worked to train nearly over 10,000 youth the foundation's 4 leadership pillars.

Like Usher, the new mommy also has her very own foundation. Shakira launched the Barefoot Foundation on a mission to provide education to every child around the world. Shakira states, "We know how to address this, and it is within our reach. And we can truly be the cause of change and be the first generation in human history to bring education to all children everywhere so no child is left behind."

I'm sure you are wondering why did she name it the "Barefoot" foundation... well, it's not only the name of her first album that skyrocketed her to fame, but symbolizes the thousands of kids around the world too poor to afford shoes.

Ne-Yo sings "Let Me Love You," but it sure is easy to love him back, especially since he got involved with mtvU's Spring Fix benefit concert as a performer.

+ Watch Ne-Yo "Let Me Love You (Before You Learn To Love Yourself) (Live)"

After the devastation brought about by Hurricane Sandy, the MTV fam wanted to do what it could to help. That's what brought about "Restore the Shore" and then Spring Fix, where college student volunteers rubbed shoulders with members of "Jersey Shore" and other celebs while doing Sandy relief. Doing a good deed is its own reward, but our lovely college volunteers got another reward when Spring Fix was finished off with a benefit concert also featuring Timeflies at Six Flags Great Adventure.

'Course, we already knew Ne-Yo had a big heart before he agreed to rock the stage at the benefit concert. Last December I got to interview the man himself and he told me all about his Compound Foundation, which helps kids in foster care and group homes. (That's your cue to go, "Aww.")

And while Spring Fix might be over, there are still other ways to get involved with Sandy relief. You could also make Ne-Yo proud by getting involved with his Compound Foundation. And of course don't forget to learn to love yourself!

Guillermo del Toro already had us on board with his planned haunted house movie "Crimson Peak" when we learned Emma Stone and Charlie Hunnam joined the cast, but now he's upped the ante even higher. According to new reports, Benedict Cumberbatch has taken an undisclosed role in the upcoming movie.

Variety broke the news, and also reported that del Toro and Lucinda Coxen are still rewriting Matthew Robins and del Toro's original script. Little is known about the story of "Crimson Peak," but del Toro did describe it as a "very set-oriented classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story" that would allow him to "play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules."

Needless to say, we're thrilled with this news. Cumberbatch has fast become one of our favorite actors working today, and having him team up with del Toro is an exciting concept. Cumberbatch frequently plays cold, hard characters, and he needs a director like del Toro to break him out of that.

Del Toro spoke with Total Film recently about his plans for "Crimson Peak" and he revealed that the movie would include a love story as a major part of the plot.

"It's at the turn of the century and half of the movie takes place in America, and the other half takes place in a crumbling mansion in Cumbria. And basically it's a ghost story and gothic romance, trying to subvert the rules of the usual gothic romance," he said. "The first half is a love story, then that love story turns darker. And it's at the same time a ghost story."

On the eve of the 3-D release of "Jurassic Park," dinosaur expert, and consultant on the film, Jack Horner – and inspiration for Sam Neil's character – teased a tiny detail about the an as-of-yet-unseen dinosaur that'll make an appearance in the upcoming Colin Trevorrow-directed "Jurassic Park 4." He said:

"I can't actually tell you who that will be…But you'll want to keep the lights on after you see this movie."

So that got me thinking. What utterly terrifying dinosaur could pop up in the flick? We've seen the T-Rex, Velociraptors, and Dilophosaurus munch some human in the first film, "The Lost World" added the Compsognathus, and "Jurassic Park III" had a Pteranodon attack and introduced the audience to the big bad Spinosaurus. So which horrible, thunderous lizard is next? Let's take a guess.

Utahraptor

Sure, this guy is similar to the heavily-featured Velociraptors in all three "Jurassic Park" movies, but the Utahraptor is different. For one, it's covered in feathers, so if you're a sufferer of Ornithophobia, this sucker will surely keep you up at night. Also, the claws on its feet could measure up to over 9 inches! That could certainly carve up some nice Goldblum if you ask me. If he's even in the movie.

Sarcosuchus

Also known as SUPERCROC! No, not that awful schlock-fest from 2007, but a real deal giant, prehistoric crocodile! This baby was estimated to be around 40 feet long, weighed over 8 tons, and had a mouth full of flesh-tearing chompers. There hasn't been a whole lot of water-based carnage in the "JP" flicks thus far, so it'd be nice to see our heroes flee from good ol' SuperCroc.

Giganotosaurus

Bigger than the T-Rex, smaller than the Spinosaurus, but with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth designed for one thing, cutting. The Giganotosaurus' teeth were 8 inches long and sliced through flesh, rather than smashing through bone, like the similar T-Rex. Also, this fella had a ginormous melon, prompting Jack Horner to observe, "It is certainly the largest meat eating dinosaur skull I have ever seen. I would agree that the skull has been reconstructed accurately and is bigger than our T. Rex skull."

Jeholopterus

Absolutely the most terrifying creature on this list. The Jeholopterus, looks like a winged beast from the depths of Hell and is theorized to be a VAMPIRE! It reportedly latches to its prey with claws, bites, and sucks the blood of fellow dinosaurs. I mean...man! Yes, the theories about the Jeholopterus are controversial, and probably untrue, but this is a movie we're talking about here, and if I were a betting man, I'd put down a few greenbacks on the Jeholopterus being the nightmarish dino Horner is referring to.

Megalodon

Okay, not a dinosaur. And to be honest, this counts as more of a secret hope than actual theorizing. But hear me out. The Megalodon was a massive shark from the Cenozoic Era era that could swallow Jaws and all those smart sharks from that L.L. Cool J. movie in one gulp. Megalodon was around 60 feet long and had a mouth full of 7 inch serrated teeth. An adaptation of Steve Alten's killer Megalodon novel "Meg" has been in the works for ages, but looks like it'll never happen. And in the first pages of that book, Meg slurps down a T-Rex! Yup. The chances are slim for this gal to make an appearance, but you never know. Watching Jeff Goldblum (still don't know if he's in the movie) ride on the back of a GIANT great white shark sure would put some butts in seats, I say.

"Jurassic Park 3-D" is in theaters now.

Well, they certainly aren't worried about spoilers.

And to be fair, director Kimberly Peirce and the makers of "Carrie" don't have to be. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in a square mile that doesn't know how the tale of the telepathic teen ends. Sadly, the blood-soaked prom is likely the only scene people can recalled from Brian De Palma's original 1976 adaptation of Stephen King's first novel.

The new trailer for the 2013 version (via Yahoo! Movies), starring Chloe Moretz as Carrie White, essentially tells the story from beginning to end, including several memorable scenes from the book and De Palma film like Carrie's run-in with her classmates in the gym showers.

The preview gives us our first glimpse at what is probably the scene everyone is wondering about, the prom. The little we do see from inside the gym hints at a much more elaborate scene than the version with Sissy Spacek, with CGI helping Carrie toss tables and students around the prom.

After the trailer, the credits instruct you to call Carrie at (207) 404-2604, which plays a recording of Moretz asking who is calling and then Julianne Moore locking her in the closet and telling you never to call. It's, honestly, pretty creepy and toll-free!

"Carrie" opens in theaters on October 18.

When things are looking bad, it's important to tell the people close to you how you truly feel. Since Rebel and Channing have been in a high speed chase for the past few weeks, the host of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards decides it's time to share some thoughts with the "Magic Mike" star.

In the latest promo for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, things get emotional. Rebel confesses to Channing how she would like to lick him, and then he tells her that she's on fire... literally.
