It's #ThrowbackThursday, and chances are your Instagram feed is full of awkward, adorable or awkwardly adorable pics of your friends and followers from back in the day. If your fave thing about Thursdays is celebrity throwbacks, we've got 'em for ya! Today: Funny woman Tina Fey.

"Saturday Night Live" kicks off its 39th season this weekend with Tina Fey as its host and Arcade Fire as musical guest. Fey may be the current queen of comedy, but her whoopee-cushioned throne didn't come without many years of hard work.

Everyone's favorite Sarah Palin impersonator got her start in Chicago-based improv comedy group The Second City. She later joined "SNL" as a writer, and eventually became a head writer and performer. And we can't forget about "30 Rock," the show Fey created back in '06, based loosely around her own life. Talk about HBIC (only, in this case, the "C" stands for "Comedy.")

Leave it to Tina to find the most ridiculously amazing ways to give to charity. During Comedy Central's philanthropic "Night of Too Many Stars," she and her BFF Amy Poehler auctioned off a night of friendship to the highest female bidders. Two generous women couldn't pass up on the opportunity to hang with the comediennes, donating a total of $72,000 to autism education programs.

Tina also makes charity ice cream. OK, not really, but the Ben and Jerry's flavor named after her "30 Rock" character Liz Lemon is dedicated to Jumpstart — an organization that trains college students to help inner-city preschoolers develop language and literacy skills. Tina is a longtime supporter of the org, 'cause she, of all people, knows the correlation between reading and writing and lifelong success.
