We might think of malaria as a disease that just happened "in the olden days," but that's not true. Malaria is a major problem in some parts of the world, and it kills more than 1,400 kids every day. That's why Malaria No More and its partners have created Power of One, which asks you to donate one dollar to the cause.
One dollar might sound like next to nothing, but it is enough to supply a malaria test and treatment to a young person in the African country of Zambia. You could think of it this way: essentially, giving one dollar will save the life of one child. After you've donated, you can stay up-to-date on what's happening in Zambia and how your money is being used. You can even get to watch videos!
The goal is to raise $3 million for 3 million kids, and so far they've raised a bit over $200,000. In addition to asking for your donation, Malaria No More is asking you to spread awareness about the campaign to your friends and fam. Travie's lucky to have 3 million Twitter followers to share his news with, but if everyone just shares it with a few people, that totally matters, too. This might be the most eventful dollar you ever spend!
