Last year was the Global Poverty Project's first ever Global Citizen Festival, and it did so well that the second Global Citizen Festival is taking place tomorrow at Central Park. Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder and more will be there.

In September 2012, about 60,000 people attended the event, and they attained their goal of raising at least $500 million (phew!) to go toward fighting extreme poverty. This year Global Citizen is raising money, taking action and spreading awareness on the issues of education, health, women's equality and global partnerships. They've got their website set up so that you can take action in different ways, earn points, and get awesome prizes.

While every day is a day to be a global citizen, much of this is leading up to the big festival where Alicia, John, Stevie and others will be performing and getting people pumped up about making the world a better place. If you're able to attend, I'm jealz that's great, but if you're not, you can still catch the festival 4 pm ET on Palladia and as a live stream on the website.

The ultimate goal of all this is to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030, and even with Alicia, John and Stevie, there will still be a lot to do. It's never too late to work on issues like education and women's equality, and we're eagerly waiting to see how well the festival does this year, how much it makes, and how many more people it gets involved!
