The crisis in Syria is bad, but there are ways you can help, including one way that includes listening to Ellie Goulding music and making One Direction's Niall Horan proud.
One fifth of One Direction Tweeted:
Please help out! @savechildrenuk http://t.co/e8jpx0zVNn
— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) September 20, 2013
Ellie has teamed up with Save the Children in hopes of getting some much-needed funds to the war torn country, and she's using her voice to do it. She's re-released her single "I Know You Care" specifically for this cause, and the deets are explained the short video Niall tweeted.
The video gives a glimpse into the suffering going on in Syria, and includes alarming numbers, like the fact that two million people have fled the country, and about 100,000 have died since the start of this conflict. Ellie's song is playing in the background, and it explains that by downloading the song, you'll be sending money to support efforts to help Syrians.
After watching the vid, you can download the song, and you can also spread awareness through social media just like Niall is doing. Seeing #song4syria trending would be awesome. There are other ways you can help out the people of Syria, like donating to UNICEF's specific funds for the country. You can also contact your reps and let them know how you feel about getting involved in the Syria crisis (and whether you think it ought to involve the military or not). Like the song says, we know you care, and there are ways you can join Niall and Ellie in sending aid.
