MTV Act is all about cheering on young people and celebs who are using their voices and taking action to change the world. But in order to tell these stories, we need great writers. And that's where YOU come in!
Are you a pop culture know-it-all and blogging superstar with a passion for social change? Do you cheer for Malala? Roar for Katy Perry? Dream of a puppy play date with Ian Somerhalder? Yeah, us too!
We're looking for freelance writers to write daily stories for us! Typical word count ranges from 200 to 600 words. Stories range from interviewing rapper Macklemore to restoring the shore with Snooki. We also love profiling everyday people who are doing extraordinary things in their community -- like helping students affected by Hurricane Sandy go to prom. Things we def. require from ya:
+ You can pitch and turn around 3-5 stories a day for us.
+ Very organized. Can keep track of story assignments, deadlines and details.
+ Sticks to deadlines. Hand stories in on time as well as invoices.
+ Fact checks their own stories.
+ Familiar with the MTV brand, on-air programming and the MTV website.
+ Ideally you live in the NYC area but if you're not near MTV HQ, still send us your resume!
Interested candidates can email their resume to act(at)mtv.com and if you have any questions, shoot them over too. K? Thanks!
