Do you know where you can enjoy games, education, and Ashley Rickards of "Awkward" fame? The second annual GameOn! event, of course!
Ashley Tweeted:
So proud to be recognized by @CommonSense as a You Got Game honoree! Hope you'll join me at GameON in LA on Sept. 29: http://t.co/jNanY70CX0

The event is happening in Culver City, and there will be lots of activities to choose from. There will be video game trucks, sports (like joining some serious athletes for a game of HORSE), music . . . and even a puppy playpen. (Can Ashley bring her new cat Trinny to play with the puppies?)
But that's only the beginning of what's going on. There will be physical activities that have video game themes, because the idea is you'll have all the fun of a video game while helping your health. And if you recall Two Bit Circus from our MTV Act coverage of them in the past, you'll be psyched to know they'll be offering interactive games for people of all different ages.
So what's up with the group behind all this? Common Sense Media is all about "improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology." This event is meant to be a lot of fun, but there's also a part of it that's educational and safe for young people. The site promises to keep adding confirmed activities, so you might want to keep checking back!
Education usually sticks with us the most when it comes to life, and this event sounds like a surefire way to get some fun learning in. Ashley's showing us that education doesn't have to be "Awkward" after all!
