The summer of 2015 gets more crowded with blockbusters every day. This past week, we added Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man" and confirmed "Jurassic World" for the tentpole season less than two years from now, but one movie expected to bow then is now out of the race.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" was expected to set sail in July 2015, but now Disney is pumping the brakes.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the problem lies in the script by Jeff Nathanson, but there reportedly is an outline for the story that everyone, including producer Jerry Bruckheimer and "Kon-Tiki" directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, really love.

"It's all a factor. We want a script that everyone's signed off on and a budget that everyone's signed off on," Bruckheimer told THR. "We're supposed to start in March and you start spending a lot of money now.... How do you budget an outline?"

What you're hearing are the words of a much more cautious Bruckheimer. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Secrets" will come to you (eventually) from the team that brought you — well, probably not you — "The Lone Ranger." Disney's loss on that film is certainly being felt here, and their approach to even a proven franchise like "Pirates" is coming under scrutiny after the tentpole-eater that was the summer of 2013.

For now, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales" is without a release date as long as the script is not pinned down. If things fall into place on that end relatively soon, expect a release date closer to summer 2016.
