Fresh off her "Best Collaboration" VMA win for "Just Give Me a Reason" with Nate Ruess, P!nk works the cover of Women's Health magazine. In the interview, the singer talks about using music to conquer her demons, finding balance in life, and not being afraid to stand alone.
Although the singer has always been unapologetic about being herself, she had to work to get that way. Her dad used to tell her that she would have to "stand on the mountain alone." She said she was able to embrace who she was because she "had the right people" in her life. Plus, the singer doesn't mind being different.
She might be happy with herself now, but that doesn't mean P!nk hasn't had to face tough times. She found that expressing herself was a good form of therapy for her. She goes on to explain that she "exorcised so many demons by writing and singing and having shows" with people who know how's she feeling. Hear that, P!nk fans? You helped the singer get to where she is today!
Now that those demons are dealt with, the singer is dedicating herself to finding a balance in life. Although she'd love to be "more disciplined" about some things, she's resolved herself to just being OK with who she is now.
We love that P!nk isn't afraid to be herself. If you're not quite there yet, but are inspired by the singer, check out the action widgets below. You can also go to Half Of Us for more information on self-esteem issues.
