With J.J. Abrams out and about promoting the upcoming "Star Trek Into Darkness," snippets of answers pertaining to "Star Wars VII" have finally started to surface. "It's just about approaching it from as authentic a place as possible," states Abrams in a recent interview with BBC. "Not trying to apply what you believe or think, as much as trying to filter everything and get at it from the core of the characters. [It should be] what you deeply want to see, never what you assume the fans might like."

Speaking of characters, perhaps the most prominent question on every "Star Wars" fans' mind is "who will be making an appearance in the newest "Star Wars" trilogy?" Sure, it'd be nice to see Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo again. But what of those other memorable "Star Wars" characters? Take Admiral Ackbar for instance; the Mon Calamari fleet leader who keenly deduced that the Battle of Endor was a trap for the Rebel Alliance.

Who?
Born in Coral Depths City on the planet Dac, Gial Ackbar gains an interest in science as a result of his merchant upbringing in Foamwander City. After graduating from school, Ackbar is selected as Coral City's representative on the Calamarian Council and would later grow to become a key figurehead of Mon Calamari space exploration. Ackbar eventually becomes leader of the entire Calamarian Council and chooses to stand up to Emperor Palpatine for his people's freedom.

Unfortunately, the Mon Calamari are met with defeat and Ackbar himself is taken as a prisoner of war. Ackbar serves as a slave to the nefarious Grand Moff Tarkin for a number of years before being rescued by the Rebel Alliance. With his firsthand knowledge of Imperial war plans and the Death Star's construction, Ackbar is made an admiral of the Alliance Fleet and helps the Rebellion put a stop to the Empire's reign of terror for good.

Why?
First and foremost, there are a lot of things that turn out to be traps in the "Star Wars" universe that Ackbar could easily point out. But in all seriousness, Admiral Ackbar is the most influential and well-decorated military leader the galaxy has ever seen. In the "Star Wars" Expanded Universe, he is actually one of the key figures to sign the Declaration of the New Republic and the author of "Fleet Tactics and Combat Methodology"; the manual used by all students of the New Republic Fleet Academy. Also, there's a special class of Star Destroyer named after him.

How?
If Admiral Ackbar were to appear in the next "Star Wars" trilogy, he would more than likely be featured as one of the nine members of the New Republic Provisional Council. Obviously, Ackbar plays a huge part in not only ending the Empire's reign but also establishing the new form of government (i.e. the New Republic) throughout the galaxy. That being said, we honestly can't see any reason why J.J. Abrams wouldn't put Admiral Ackbar in "Star Wars VII."
