Beyoncé and Jay Z might be "Crazy in Love," but the duo is also crazy about taking a stand for important causes. Over the weekend, the two performers joined Trayvon Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, at a rally in her son's memory.
Bey and J obviously caused quite a stir, but according to Reverend Al Sharpton the pair wasn't there for a photo op. The couple quietly supported Fulton then exited after the vigil so they wouldn't take any attention away from the cause.
After the jury found George Zimmerman not guilty of manslaughter or murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, people across the country protested the verdict. The rally Beyoncé and Jay Z attended was one of 100 across the country held by the National Action Network, a civil rights organization founded by Reverend Sharpton.
This isn't the only display of support the duo has shown for Trayvon Martin. Over the weekend, Jay Z performed in New York (alongside Justin Timberlake) and he dedicated "Forever Young" to the teenager during their two shows there. Before attending the rally, Beyoncé sent the following Tweet urging the Beyhive to take action in Trayvon's memory:
