A full version of Beyoncé's H&M theme song, "Standing On The Sun," leaked online yesterday, and it's a fiery summer anthem perfect for...well...standing in the sun. But before you all crazy in love for the rays, here are a few quick tips for solar safety.
+ Apply Sunblock

You don't wanna come back from the beach looking like you were literally "Standing On The Sun." No matter what your skin type, apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater that protects against UVA and UVB rays. And sunscreen isn't just for sunny days! About 80% of UV rays that cause sun damage can shine through clouds, so it's best to apply sunscreen every time you go outside regardless of the weather.
+ Wear A Hat And Sunglasses

Go incog like Bey to protect your face and eyes from major sun damage. UV radiation increases your odds of getting cataracts, which cloud the eye's lens and lead to weakened eyesight. If, like most people, you tan with your eyes closed, be sure to protect those eyelids! According to W. Lee Ball Jr., OD, an optometrist at Harvard Med School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, "The eyelid itself is very thin and vulnerable to skin cancer."
+ Avoid Tanning Beds

Beds are for lounging, and sleeping, and late night Instagram selfies, but they are most definitely not for tanning in. Young people who use tanning beds have a 75% higher risk of melanoma, and ultimately have more wrinkles and eye damage than those who get their vitamin D the old-fashioned way. Take a page out of Queen B's Instagram book and head to the beach -- with your hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, of course. And for real, try to spend more time standing in the shade than on the sun!
