As the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama is one of the most powerful women in the world. Thankfully she's used her time in the White House to encourage other women to be powerful agents of change in their own lives. Now that FLOTUS has joined Instagram, we'll get a closer look at the great work she's doing to inspire women all over the world.

During her recent trip to Africa, Michelle Obama was spotted smiling and taking pictures with young girls and women in Senegal. In her first Instagram post, the First Lady wrote, "So inspired and so impressed by these extraordinary young women." Even though she's new to the social media channel, there are already some great images on there. One of our favorites is one of the FLOTUS giving a speech at the MLK Middle School in Dakar, where she told listeners, "You are all role models for my daughters, which is why I brought them here today -- so that they could be inspired by you just like I am."
