In the last few years, Jason Statham has taken on a role similar to Dwayne Johnson in that if you add him to an existing franchise, things tend to get a little more interesting.
His appearance after the credits of "Fast and Furious 6" set up what is sure to be a can't-miss turn as the latest villain for the car action franchise. Statham was a little hesitant to talk "Fast 7" details when he sat down with MTV News' Josh Horowitz, but he explained why his near-miss appearance in "Fast 6" didn't happen.
"I was going to be in 'Fast 6,' and it just never worked out. It was a series of situations. Things just didn't come together in a way," Statham said. "We know what I'll be doing in ['Fast 7'], but I don't want to tell you too much about it."
There's also the next "Expendables" movie still on Statham's plate, which will have several new additions to the already stacked action cast.
"It's an impossible thing to say 'no' to. It's such a great laugh with Sly and all those people. It's just great," Statham said. "I'd kill myself not to be a part of that. It's part three. There are a lot of extras who are coming to join the party."
"Expendables 3" is up next for Statham, with "Fast and Furious 7" shooting sometime soon afterward.
