It's #ThrowbackThursday, and chances are your Instagram feed is full of awkward, adorable, or awkwardly adorable pics of your friends and followers from back in the day. If your fave thing about Thursdays is celebrity throwbacks, we've got 'em for ya! Today: Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

Many people think that Demi and Selena got their start on the Disney Channel, but the dynamic duo actually met many years earlier, when they acted alongside each other on "Barney." It's no wonder they grew up to be such multi-talented performers; those "Barney" kids were singing, dancing, acting machines! Demi and Selena have taken very different career paths over the years, but they always converge over one thing: giving back.
+ Selena Gomez Talks Human Rights
Selena Gomez may have had a pretty sweet childhood, but she's all about helping those who don't. As one of UNICEF's youngest ambassadors, she promotes all sorts of initiatives to help children around the world live happy, healthy lives. Most recently, she Tweeted a UNICEF report on children living with disabilities. According to the report, 93 million children in the world age 14 or younger live with a moderate or severe disability. Many of these kids aren't given the same rights and opportunities as their more able-bodied peers, but UNICEF is working to change that. To join the org, ask your senator to sign the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which grants basic human rights to all humans, including those with disabilities.
+ Demi Lovato Talks Mental Health
Demi Lovato keeps it real! Over the years, the "Made In The USA" singer has been extremely open about her personal struggles and the steps she has taken to overcome them. She boldly discusses mental health in hopes that other young people will be inspired to as well. "What I experienced may not be exactly what you experience," she said while accepting an award from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. "But for every young adult out there who feels scared, or sad, or out of control, who feels like their mental health diagnosis means they're unworthy, I want to let you know you are [worthy], that your life has meaning."
Selena and Demi's lives have certainly been meaningful -- not only because they release hit songs and date famous dudes, but because they work so hard to give meaning to other people's lives. Follow the Action Links below to do the same!
