Avril Lavigne must have a full plate as she gets ready for the release of her new album and her upcoming wedding to Chad Kroeger. But she makes sure to never miss out on furthering her work at the Avril Lavigne Foundation!

The Avril Lavigne Foundation is all about bettering the lives of young people who are affected by disabilities or illnesses. (You should totally check out our exclusive Avril birthday interview all about it!) Last summer Avril made a point of stopping by Easter Seals Camp Oakes and blogged about the great experience she had, saying, "People of all ages with disabilities were laughing and hanging out, swimming, singing and dancing."

Avril's latest blog post mentions this trip, and she says, "One of the things I learned while I was there was that while everyone loved summer camp, some campers were not always able to attend or return to camp because of the cost. Since then, the Avril Lavigne Foundation has been working with Easter Seals to identify how we can help!"

And they've identified a way! AVL has created the CAMP S.T.A.R.S. program. S.T.A.R.S. means Summer Time Avril Rock Stars, and the program lets kids with disabilities go to camp even if their family can't pay for it. Camp can get expensive, but Avril knows it's a fun and important event in many kids' lives. So here's to letting kids be kids at camp...and here's to never growing up!
