Now that we've had some time to accept the fact that there will be not two, but three "Hobbit" movies in the near future, it's time to start looking at the bigger picture. We have a few questions for Peter Jackson. For instance, what is this third movie going to be called?
TheOneRing.net is reporting that New Line has already registered new "Hobbit" titles in the wake of Jackson's announcement. The fansite claims that the studio has registered four titles: "The Desolation of Smaug," "The Battle of Five Armies," "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," and "The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies."

It's nearly impossible to say what Warner Bros. and New Line plan to do with the titles for the second and third "Hobbit" films. With "An Unexpected Journey" right around the corner, that title is likely here to stay. Keeping "There and Back Again" for the second film becomes problematic, however, as it pretty much signifies the end of the story.
That's where these two new titles may come into play. Some have suggested that the new version of the second movie would focus on Bilbo's encounter with Smaug, allowing the third movie to center on the climactic Battle of Five Armies. It's also possible that "There and Back Again" would be preserved and used for the final film, while one of the newly registered titles gets subbed in for the second.
Either way, we may have a definite answer soon, as the release of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" draws closer and closer.
Speaking of which, limited edition RealD 3-D glass have shown up online (via ComingSoon.net). The specs have a very Tolkien-esque wrought iron look that's sure to not look stupid on your face.
