The band kicked off the U.S. leg of their tour at Hoboken's vast Pier a Park, where they showcased some select new tracks. The band managed to perform nearly all of their Grammy-nominated debut Sigh No More in addition to playing various covers and five songs off Babel, which is expected to drop on September 25.
"I Will Wait" (Track 3 off Babel):
The performance marked Mumford & Sons' first gig around the New York market in nearly two years. They made it up to fans by conducting a three-song encore that was prefaced with a brass rendition of "New York, New York." Fireworks were even set off over the Hudson after the band's cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Boxer."
