The sick choreography. The overmatched outfits. The group pics with the hottest in front and the others posing awkwardly in the background. I'm talking about 90s boy bands. While new bands One Direction and The Wanted are currently killin' the game, 90s faves 98 Degrees and the Backstreet Boys are plotting their returns.
Yup, both boys bands have comeback performances this month. 98 Degrees recently announced two August shows -- one for the "Today Show" on August 17 and the Summer Mixtape Fest on August 18. And guess who else will be reppin' hard at the Summer Mixtape Fest -- Backstreet Boys!! The "I Want It That Way" crooners will also be appearing on national TV. Now that Kevin Richardson is back with the band they'll be performing on "Good Morning America" on August 31. So with these boy banders coming back on stage we wanted to know which one gets your action? Which band do you think does more good?
+Backstreet Boys
If you grew up in the 90s there's a good chance that, at some point, you either wanted to be or to be with Nick Carter. If you've never heard of Nick Carter, go away. You're making me feel old. The Backstreet Boys' recent tour with New Kids On The Block partnered with Tickets-For-Charity to donate a portion of sales to non-profits including Susan G. Komen for the Cure. How sweet of them to help save the many of boobies they probably signed in their day!
+98 Degrees
98 Degrees, who taught millions of preteens their first Spanish words with their hit song, "Just One Night (Una Noche)," makes us thank God we found them. In 2010, band member (and former Chippendale dancer) Jeff Timmons did a benefit concert for Let's Kick It For Kenya -- a non-profit that empowers Kenyan women and children through soccer. And let's not forget that Justin Jeffre flexes his political muscle. He ran for mayor of Cincinnati in 2005 -- he didn't nab the spot but he's still political active. Homie got arrested at an Occupy Wall Street protest last year.
Both the Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees did their thaaang back in the day, but which band gets your action now? Use the action widgets below to support your fave band/cause! Or if you can't decide between Nick Carter and Nick Lachey, click both!
