"Underworld: Awakening" marked the return of Kate Beckinsale to her lead role as Selena, the vampiric Death Dealer from the hit action-horror series.

The fourth film in the series hits Blu-ray and DVD today, so in honor of the release, we have an exclusive look at a featurette from the disk.

In the clip, Beckinsale explains why making a woman-centric action film isn't as simple as it may seem. "It's hard to do an action movie with a woman in the lead because you can't just flip it like it's a guy," she said. "The fact that she's a woman is significant, and I think that's what's great about this movie is that she does become a mother."

"Underworld: Awakening" is available on DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray now.
