We told y'all things were about to get REAL on UCLA's campus. As in "Real Time with Bill Maher" REAL. The HBO host crashed a class for mtvU's "Stand In" series. Yup, these surprised Poli Sci students (sucks for you, skippers) got quite the candid chat from the famously in-your-face progressive talk show host.
Maher's signature political incorrectness that peeps love (and love to hate) popped up almost immediately. "I just found out that the professor was Republican. I guess he's been brainwashing them. It falls to me now to describe to these students what a bunch of bulls*** this guy's been feeding them," said Maher about the class professor.
But don't worry, the conservative prof held his own and ushered Maher into his stunned classroom and told him: "We've just been chatting about the election and we'd like to hear your ideas on it. Because they're interesting even when they're wrong." Love me some good-natured partisan punches!
I have to agree with Mr. Maher, these UCLA students were ON POINT. They grilled their guest speaker with some seriously insightful questions and Billy the Anti-Bulls****er rewarded them with some gems. Check out these bonus clips of Bill going off lecture hall-style. First up, Maher takes on GOP gold diggers and really puts his money where his mouth is (you know that'll get expensive).
And then bombastic Bill calls "bulls***" (perhaps his fav word in the English language) on primary season.
How's THAT for some impromptu lip service? Those unsuspecting Bruins got an earful of Bill, and whether you side with Maher or Prof Schwartz, you gotta admit a class like that beats a friggin' Powerpoint any day. Watch the full episode (only 5 minutes long) below:
