The pop stars aligned: Last week Justin Bieber finally dropped the hotly anticipated video for his new smooth-talkin' single "Boyfriend" at the same time that Barack Obama's ex-GF's blew up his spot with a Vanity Fair book excerpt about his old school loverboy ways. Too perf, riiiight?!

A pop prince and a same sex marriage supporter President -- who makes the better boyfriend? Well, first, let's compare some research…

J.B. croons to a Selena lookalike in his vid, "If I was your boyfriend, never let you go, keep you on my arm girl, you'd never be alone." But when it comes to dating, a young Barry Obama (who was then a Columbia student) paints a different picture: "Barack -- still intrigues me, but so much going on beneath the surface, out of reach. Guarded, controlled." Oh daaaang, clearly our Commander-in-Chief was always in command of his emotions -- totes the silent, brooding type.

How about a first date? The Biebz prefers a heart-melting rom-com hang, "Chillin' by the fire while we eatin' fondue." The Barack Ness Monster apparently likes a home-cooked hookup as well, "I think maybe he cooked me dinner. Then we went and talked in his bedroom. And then I spent the night. It all felt very inevitable." We're not playa hatin' as long as POTUS was all about GYT.

But the Prez also knew when to slow his roll: "It was one of those dark, old Italian restaurants that don't exist in New York anymore. It was the kind of place where they leave you alone. I remember thinking how happy I felt just talking to him, that I could talk to him for hours. We walked slowly back to my apartment, on 90th, and said good-bye." #SWOON. Why do dudes these days think a Taco Bell fourth meal counts as a legit date?! At least Justin is down for some decorum, too: "I can be a gentleman, anything you want."

OK, enough with the gushy stuff. You know what a boyfriend really needs?! HEART. And what better way to tell if he's packing some heat (the charitable kind, you pervs!) than comparing how they give back? Biebz has quite the track record: launching a massive charity drive, making wishes come true, bashing bullying, sweet tweeting, and much more.

But Obama…is the President of the United States. He basically dedicated his entire life to serving our country and making his way to the highest office in the land. So yeah, that's a pretty big trump card when it comes to "community service." Not to mention he just came out in support of marriage equality.

Shoot, they both got musical street cred, too. In fact, Obama could actually slow jam this exact song if y'all vote for "Boyfriend" to be the next Presidential interwebz hit. So who gets to be your do-good boo? Take action for Biebz or Barry below!
