Now that his new movie "The Great Gatsby" is out, odds are Leonardo DiCaprio is pretty busy plugging the film. But this doesn't stop him from his other passion -- saving the world.

Leo's namesake foundation teamed up with renown auction house Christie's to create The 11th Hour charity auction. More than 30 highly respected artists (included Banksy!!) donated their art to the auction, knowing that the money earned would go to conservation projects to protect both ocean and land.

The auction went on yesterday only, and the results are in: $38.8 million dollars were raised! Thirteen auction records got broken last night, and nine of the artworks brought in more than a million dollars. Leo Tweeted earlier this week that less than 2% of charitable donations go to help the ecosystem, and this dude is serious about evening out the playing field.

If you missed the auction last night (or, like me most of us, have nowhere near enough money to afford what was going) you can still help even out the playing field by donating to help the earth. Like, maybe give a little to the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation? And if you're an avid coffee drinker, you might want to know that 100% of profits from LYON Coffee go to Leo's foundation. If money is an issue but you wanna help, you could also get involved with the World Wildlife Fund's Hands Off My Parts campaign, which Leo is super passionate about.
