Music has the power to inspire people and make change happen. One Direction knows that, which is why they're all about ONE.org's new musical agit8 campaign. And Usher knows that, which is why he's gotten personally involved with agit8.

Do you believe a song can change the world? We at @ONECampaign do. Catch my #agit8 video here: http://t.co/vLmP9hLcN8

Some songs are just for fun, but a lot of songs have deeper meaning behind them. At agit8, you can learn about songs that encompass issues like women's rights, civil rights and more. ONE is trying to get extreme poverty to go ghost in the next 17 years, and you can help spread awareness of this and other causes through agit8. Watch videos, share videos, and get involved with ONE.
And now Usher's got a great, new video you can share. In it, he sings two Marvin Gaye songs: "Mercy Mercy Me" and "What's Going On." "Mercy Mercy Me," (which originally came out in the 70s) is about the environment and has lyrics like, "Where did all the blue skies go?/Poison is the wind that blows from the North and South and East."
And there's also "What's Going On," a song against violence. "Mother, mother/There's too many of you crying/Brother, brother, brother/There's far too many of you dying/You know we've got to find a way/To bring some lovin' here today." The song's been used for charity before, like when Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Christina Aguilera (and -- coincidence? -- USHER!) and others did a rendition of the song to raise money to fight AIDS and help people affected by September 11. We love Usher as a "Voice" coach but we love him even more when he uses his voice for an important cause.
