The average teen sends over 3,000 texts a month. (And you're lookin' at a twenty-something who probably sends even more than that...if you count Tinder.) But how many of those texts are really life-changing?
DoSomething.org and entrepreneurial crowd-funding website Kiva, have teamed up to make texting about more than just LOLs and WTFs. Through their new campaign, 25,000 Women, your texts can help 25,000 female entrepreneurs in Kenya, Mongolia, El Salvador, Pakistan, and the Philippines get their businesses off the ground.
1.29 billion people worldwide live on less than $1.25 a day, and 70% of them are women! I spent more than triple that on my morning coffee. Help women in need (or avert that vanilla latte karma crisis) by texting WOMEN to 38383. When you do, you'll receive scenarios from one of five countries where women face challenging working conditions, and asked to make the sorts of decisions they are faced with on a daily basis. Just for participating, a Kiva lender will give $25 to female entrepreneurs in need. In other words, all you have to do to change the world is what you do best -- text!
Follow the Action Links below to join the 25,000 Women campaign, and share your experience with your friends to create a brigade of young social lenders! 'Cause texting your ex is cool, but you'll feel much better after texting to change 25,000 lives.
