Ever since the bombings, Kenny Chesney has had Boston on his mind. He's on this month's cover of Boston Common, and now he's sharing all the info on his fundraising efforts and why the city has his heart.

After the bombings, there were many signs of solidarity and support for those affected. In this new interview, the country crooner talks about how he was no different; all he wanted to do was support the city like Bostonians had supported him throughout his career. When the bombings happened, Chesney immediately thought of a new song on his record called "Spread the Love," which "seemed like the right message to send to people in Boston, especially those whose lives were changed in an instant, through no fault of their own." When you download the single from iTunes, the proceeds are donated directly to his fundraising campaign, the "Spread the Love Fund."

The singer is also grateful, he says, that Boston radio stations have rallied behind the song. Outside of music, he's selling t-shirts to raise money for the fund, which will benefit the Boston Medical Center. Although Chesney has had plenty to celebrate in his life, he calls this fundraiser "one of the things I'm most proud of in my whole music career."
