Joseph Gordon Levitt, Penn Badgley, Zoe Kravitz and bunch of other attractive famous people wanna stop fracking in New York. Now before you cry yourself to sleep at the thought of the sexiest people in sexiest city in the world going celibate, lemme explain what fracking is.
It's a term for the hydraulic fracturing of rock used to release petroleum, natural gas, and other substances to the surface. It releases toxins into the ground and atmosphere that can be harmful to plant, animal, and human life.
The mother and father behind this video, Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon, started Artists Against Fracking to raise awareness and pressure New York Governor Andrew Cuomo not to allow fracking in upstate New York. "Now gather round people listen to my song," sings a very hipsterrific Lennon and pretty much everyone I've ever wanted to frack. "About something most of you'd agree is just wrong. There ain't no place left on earth to discover, so please don't frack my mother."
To join the anti-fracking movement, you can write Governer Cuomo (online -- it's 2013, and nobody uses snail mail anymore) or call him directly at (518) 474-8390. Please keep your calls appropriate and "frack" free.
