Now that it's Friday, you're probably all shouting "TGIF." Maybe we can throw in a "TGIHCW" (thank goodness I have clean water) into the mix, too? It's World Water Day!

Clean water is something many of us take for granted, but almost 800 million people don't have access to safe water. Each day about 4,000 kids under the age of five die from diseases they get from drinking bad water. Maybe you can't fly to a developing country with a cup of water, but there are ways for you to take action today.

Matt Damon, who co-founded Water.org, has put together a new animated PSA with some astonishing factoids. According to the UN, more people in the world have cell phones than have access to clean toilets? You aren't supposed to bring toilets up in polite conversation, but the truth of the matter is that access to toilets and plumbing make a big diff in the water crisis. Check out Matt's vid below.

+ UNICEF Tap Project

Next time you're on Facebook, how about checking out the UNICEF Tap Project Facebook app? If you donate $5.00 to UNICEF, it'll open your virtual tap and you can invite friends to join you. $5.00 to UNICEF gets a child clean drinking water for 200 days! Celebs like Emmy Rossum and Nas are taking part. What's not to "Like" about all this?

+ Water For World Act

It's always good to write to your elected officials to let them know how you feel about issues, and this includes the water crisis. Right now you can ask your members of Congress to pass The Water for the World Act. Care.org already has a sample letter written out, so all you have to do is provide deets like your name and zip code.

If you didn't think you could love One Direction any more, get this: Harry Styles is also helping out on World Water Day. He Tweeted:

+ The Water Challenge

If you'd like to get more hands-on, you can sign up for The Water Challenge from The Water Project. It's designed for a group, so like a school, club, youth group, etc. You can do things like fundraise and spread awareness. The Water Project gives you a free kit if you're interested, so check them out for deets!
