Peter Jackson is the modern master of mainstream filmmakers who know how to connect with their core fanbase. His video diaries from the set of "The Hobbit" kept fans engaged and dying for more, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that for the first preview of the second film of the trilogy, "The Desolation of Smaug," Jackson is getting in on the action and bringing all of the fans.

Jackson will be participating in a live event at www.hobbit.com/sneak, where he will take fan questions and debut the first preview for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," but to gain access to the event, you'll have to pick up "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" on Blu-ray or DVD.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is now available on home video.
