Women are fighting for equal respect and representation in a number of fields, including that of DJing. After Spinnin' Records posted a sexist image on social media, the Jane Doze, a female DJ duo, fought back.

This all started when Spinnin' Records posted a pic on Facebook and Twitter of a CD-J with a stove burner instead of a deck and the comment that there was finally a "CD-J suitable for women." Of course there was a backlash as men and women were deeply offended by this.

On Facebook Spinnin' Records tried to make it seem like a joke by saying, "Music's all about having fun and this post was obviously not meant to offend anyone." On Twitter they said, "As a record label that works with both male & female DJs & artists, it was of course never our intention to offend anyone....And definitely not women in specific." But since the picture and label had specifically gone after women, people were skeptical of this response.

Enter the Jane Doze, who used Buzzfeed to write a tongue-in-cheek answer to Spinnin' Records. "Since we lady DJs are apparently most comfortable in the kitchen, we wanted to show our fans what we've been cooking," they wrote. They take the cooking theme and run with it, showing how they're "cooking" up so many good shows. This is def the recipe for radness.
