You've seen our Top Ten of 2012 list, but now let's take a look back at the movies that just missed the cut. These are our Honorable Mentions of 2012. Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" didn't exactly have the deck stacked in its favor when it came to box office success. The running time clocks in at nearly two and a half hours. It does away with the traditional biopic formula and only focuses on a small portion of the sixteenth president's life, the struggle to pass the 13th Amendment. Plus, we all know how that turned out. But looking at Spielberg's...

The rather vocal group of online J.J. Abrams haters might have a slight change of heart after reading what the fanboy director recently did to make one man's dying wish come true. It began nearly a week ago as a desperate plea for help on Reddit. One user, posting on behalf of cancer-stricken friend and his friend's wife, put out a request to anyone who could help arrange a screening of the nine-minute prologue to "Star Trek Into Darkness" or the entire movie, if at all possible. Word had circulated previously that a cut of the film did...

I think we all collectively just blue ourselves. If a recent here-one-moment-gone-the-next posting to a Fox publicity site is to be believe, the Bluths and the Fünkes will return on May 4 with 14 new episodes, all set to premiere on Netflix simultaneously. Oh No They Didn't took a screenshot of the post, which confirmed a larger episode order than the originally planned ten. The listing also offered the titles of the episodes, each named for a single member of the family, with some two-parters (i.e. "GOB" and "GOB 2"). Click past the jump...

Like the majority of critics groups around the country, we think "Zero Dark Thirty" is one of the best films of 2012. And as the movie continues to rack up the accolades (four Golden Globe nominations, ten Best Picture nods from assorted film critics groups thus far), audiences will soon have more opportunities to weigh-in, thanks to its expanded release in the new year. There are a lot of appealing aspects to Katherine Bigelow's thriller: the cultural relevance, taking a cinematic peek inside secret government operations, an A-list cast, reactions...

Photo: (Getty) Jason Mraz drinks a lot of water, but he makes sure not to use up a plastic bottle every time he gets thirsty. The singer-songwriter, who recently took part in MTV Exit Live in Myanmar to end slavery, used Twitter to remind us how to stay environmentally-conscious as we fly around for the holidays and into 2013. Jason Tweeted: Boarding my 86th flight this year. Average airport water is appx 4 bucks. Thanks to my own bottle I saved $344. Banning plastic makes cents.— Jason Mraz (@jason_mraz) December 27, 2012 Cutting back...

FROM MTV NEWS A hobbit, 13 dwarves, and a wizard ruled the weekend box office once again, but a secret agent grabbed just as many headlines. Though "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" topped ticket sales, "Skyfall" made history by becoming the first film in the 007 series to cross the $1 billion mark. The previous record-holder for the franchise, "Casino Royale," earned $600 million, a measly sum by comparison. Elsewhere, the "Lord of the Rings" prequel continued its hot streak, adding $32.9 million to its current domestic total of $222.7...

Photo: (Getty) Well, we made it. It's almost 2013. It's been a banner year in the realm of causes, music and politics, and with that in mind, here's what I'm most looking forward to in 2013. + Music This year: We watched as Demi Lovato won the 2012 MTV VMA for Video with a Message, and Lady Gaga started her Body Revolution movement. In 2013: Let's hope we get to see more of Gaga's Born Brave Bus tour and her Youth Empowerment Initiative with the UN and UNICEF. Would it also be too much to hope for an anthem for her Body Revolution movement?...

Photo: (Project HOPE) In 2006, at the age of 15, Kristina Saffran and Liana Rosenman were undergoing treatment together for anorexia. The girls have since overcome their eating disorders and founded Project HEAL: Help to Eat, Accept and Live. Project HEAL, which helps people receive treatment for eating disorders and works to prevent low self-image, will soon turn five, and we knew we had to get more deets on this awesome yay-acceptance org. Along with providing scholarships to people who can't afford treatment, it encourages teens and...

Movie characters are people too. Well, they're imaginary people for the most part, but that doesn't mean that they don't have a few aspects of their lifestyles that they'd like to change in 2013. With so many great characters in the year 2012 (you can find out Top Ten here), there are more than a few that have some stuff they can work on in 2013. Here are the New Years resolutions for the movie characters of 2012! Batman from "The Dark Knight Rises" Stop trusting clearly evil people. Thor from "Avengers" Stop falling for that disappearing...

Despite utter zombie exhaustion, "Warm Bodies" has a premise we could potentially get behind. Sure, there's a lot of room for some cheeseball moments when you have a zombie falling in love and slowly becoming human again, but at least it's something different. If you remain unconvinced that anything original can be done with zombies anymore, we suggest you check out the first four minutes, which Fandango just posted. You'll be able to get a sense of what they're going for, and you'll get to see some Rob Cordry, which is always a good thing....

A few months ago, Quentin Tarantino told Total Film that he believes "Inglourious Basterds" and the recently released "Django Unchained" "bespeak a trilogy," but that he wasn't quite sure what the third leg would be. Well, he might have an idea now. In an interview with The Root (via Empire), Tarantino revealed an unused storyline from his longer version of "Basterds" that could make up the third installment of his trilogy. Learn more about "Killer Crow" after the jump! Cut from "Basterds" for length and to "tame his material," what...

Photo: (Getty) Frank Ocean has been known to use social media to make a statement, and yesterday, he took to Twitter to talk all about jobs. Photo: (Getty) She's gotten (almost) bare once before, and she's done it again! Now Rebel Wilson, who is hosting the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, found the rock musical "bare" to be pitch perfect. Love Rebel x twitter.com/RebelWilson/st…— Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) December 27, 2012 Love the pic of everyone! Photo: (Getty) Christmas Eve is usually reserved for keeping a watchful eye over the chimney and spending time with families, but this year Demi Lovato also chose the day to honor the Sandy Hook Elementary School victims. The singer recorded a soulful rendition of Alabama's "Angels Among Us" in tribute to the 26 victims of the Newtown shooting. Before and after the video, viewers are directed to learn more about We Are Newtown. We Are Newtown was established as a way for people to find fundraising opportunities to support the Newtown...

You've seen our Top Ten of 2012 list, but now let's take a look back at the movies that just missed the cut. These are our Honorable Mentions of 2012. What the hell happened to Ben Affleck? The guy goes from being a punch line to being the director Warner Bros. supposedly wanted for their big "Justice League" effort. You want to know how he did it? He made his movies. Instead of being just the next actor to try his hand at directing, Affleck took another road. He found the grown-up stories that he wanted to tell and made them in intelligent...
