We love a good soldier's surprise return home story! This one may just be one of my all time faves. While our brave soldiers are abroad fighting for our country, many families across the United States stayed strong this holiday season. But one fam who spent New Year's Day at the Rose Parade got the surprise of a lifetime.
Meet Miriam Pazz, a wife of Army Sgt. First Class Eric Pazz serving in Afghanistan who thought she was attending the 2013 Rose Parade as a contest winner... but the HUGE surprise had yet to occur.
Little did Miriam know, her hubby was hidden on one of the floats as each paraded through the streets of Pasadena, California. As the Natural Balance Pet Foods float arrived where Eric was hidden away, a standing ovation ensued as he emerged and walked off the float towards his ecstatic wife. *chills* Can you imagine how shocking/exciting/amazing this would be?

Fun fact: the float Eric was on commemorates The U.S. Working Dog Teams National Monument, the first national monument to pay tribute to military dogs. Our soldiers -- canines included -- are seriously such heros! Eric also told ABC News, "It was a really great experience. First thing I thought was, 'I hope she's not going to slap me for lying to her.' After that, seeing our son's face, how he reacted, I was really caught up into the moment." Such a great start to their New Year!
