Not one, but two of my baby-daddies have movies coming out this Friday! Rapper Bow Wow stars in the military film "Allegiance," and R&B hunk Trey Songz joins the ill-fated cast of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D." Both musicians make bold statements with their new movie roles -- Bow for the U.S. military, and Trey for Black actors everywhere.

Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, plays father and medic Chris Reyes in "Allegiance," a tribute to the military that was written, produced, and financed almost entirely by vets. Chris must leave his sick child behind when called to duty, and battles with this throughout the film. When the rapper and "106 & Park" host was asked if the movie changed his views on our troops, Bow Wow replied, "Oh, man, they get my respect, my hat goes off to them. It's a huge commitment and it's crazy what they and their families have to endure while constantly putting their lives on the line."

+ Trey Songz Is The First Black Actor in the Texas Chainsaw Franchise

Believe it or not, Trey Songz is the first Black actor in the "Texas Chainsaw" franchise! As diverse as the entertainment industry is, leading roles for people of color are still few and far between.   "[My character] Ryan was originally envisioned as a white male," said the "Say Aah" singer in a recent interview. "The fact that the studio, the producers and the director went out on a limb and put a black man in such a strong part in a classic movie first made in the 70s, when things were so different, speaks volumes."
