Michael B. Jordan is about to be a very busy man. Not only is the "Fruitvale Station" actor in talks to play the Human Torch in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" and a part in the "Independence Day" sequel, but now Jordan's also confirmed that he has joined the ranks of A-listers auditioning for a role in the upcoming "Star Wars" trilogy.
"I mean, everybody's going in on this project," explains Jordan. "They're trying to figure out what they want. That's another incredible franchise. It's pretty crazy! We'll see how it happens. I don't know how I can do everything." Unlike Saoirse Ronan, rumor has it that Jordan has auditioned for a role without a lightsaber. So which non-Jedi character could he be up for? Well, how about Jagged Fel, an ace pilot of the Chiss Ascendancy?
Who?
Nicknamed Jag, Jagged Fel was born in an unknown region of Nirauan and entered into the Chiss military academy in his early teens. At age 18, Jag had already achieved the rank of colonel and had commanded three separate Clawcraft squadrons. When the Yuuzhan Vong declared war on the entire galaxy, Jag's father forced him to aid the New Republic. It's during his service with the Republic that he first meets the infamous Jaina Solo, Han and Leia's daughter.
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Jag and Jaina shared an intense romance that would eventually fall apart due to Jag being called back to the Chiss Ascendancy. Eventually, he was appointed a captain of the Chiss and would later go on to help the Jedi defeat Darth Caedus and, in turn, be placed as the Head of State of the Imperial Remnant by Luke Skywalker.
Why?
Not only is Jag the future husband of Jaina Solo, but he's also the nephew of Wedge Antilles, one of the most crucial supporting characters in the original trilogy. Jag is also crucial to the newly restored Empire after the second Galactic Civil War, acting as Emperor and the first of the Fel dynasty.
How?
If Jaina Solo is -the main protagonist of the new "Star Wars" trilogy, then it would make perfect sense if we were introduced to Jagged Fel during one of the first battles of the Yuuzhan Vong War. That way, the two of them could hit it off early into "Star Wars VII" with the prospect of marriage coming into play later in the trilogy!
