Lea Michele has a new love in her life...of the canine variety!
Once I saw a sign that said something like, "Need therapy? Get a dog!" Well, dogs don't magically heal everything in place of therapy, but they sure can make a difference. By adopting a dog, Lea is getting more love in her life and probably saving the life of her new animal companion. Yesterday the "Glee" star introduced Pearl on social media:
Today I would like to introduce you to Pearl. She's 8 years old and is my new little love.. Welcome Pearl! pic.twitter.com/JvY41bmwM4

Later she shared this image of herself and her doggie:

It's really wonderful and important when people are able to adopt older dogs. Otherwise, dogs "past their prime" could be left in shelter cages for long periods of time or even get put to sleep. Ian Somerhalder recently shared on Twitter that 9,000 dogs and cats are put to sleep in shelters each day. So if you're thinking about adopting, it might be even more of a good deed if you go for a dog who isn't an itty bitty puppy (no matter how cute they are!).
In the meantime, we're looking forward to seeing more pics of Pearl from Lea . . . and seeing more awesome people give forever homes to animals!
