"Vampire Diaries" Paul Wesley, had to take some scuba lessons to film scenes last year for his hit show, but now he's turning those lessons into a real life reality and helping kids learn how to swim! 'Tis the season of swimming, right?
Stefan Salvatore, um, we mean, Paul was in New York City this week to help launch Swatch's Scuba Libre Days. The event was all about swim education and Paul kicked it with adorable 2nd graders, who were there to get schooled on water safety skills!

Along with the personal lessons, Paul presented a $50,000 check to the "Swim for Life" program! Paul Tweeted:
Kicking off #ScubaLibre Days- Spending my AM with NYC 2nd graders- teaching water safety skills w/ @swatchus & @nycparks for a good cause.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, every year an average of around 390 kids (most younger than 5) drown in the United States. Swim education -- learning how to swim and knowing swim safety is so key. So supporting programs like Paul does truly makes a big diff. See Vampires, don't just suck blood -- they're saving lives too!
