Today is the 32nd anniversary of the discovery of AIDS. The disease has killed more than 30 million people in the last three decades, and more than 900 babies are still born with HIV every day. (RED) wants there to be an AIDS Free Generation by 2015, so the organization is rallying the globe to break a world record and raise awareness for the cause!

(RED) wants your help to set the first-ever Vine world record for "The Most Vines Created in 24 hours for a Cause." All you have to do is record a Vine and share the six-second video using the #REDWorldRecord hashtag. (RED) partnered with Mashable for the campaign, and celebs like Jared Leto, Twitter founder Biz Stone, and David Guetta are getting in on the action as well. The organization will even broadcast some of its favorite Vines in Times Square today! To make sure your Vine counts toward breaking the record, it MUST feature "something red" or include the words "CHOOSE (RED) SAVE LIVES."

After you create your Vine, there are still plenty of ways you can help us get to the AIDS Free Generation by 2015. It costs just 40 cents a day for 2 antiretroviral pills, preventing the transmission of HIV from mother to baby -- that means we can help get the number of babies born with HIV close to zero! To help, you can buy (RED) partner products and/or keep your eyes peeled on June 10th when (RED) releases an infographic. For every time the infographic is shared on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, $1 will be donated to The Global Fund, up to $100,000.
