This weekend, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson leave wedding crashing behind and try their hands at finding gainful employment with "The Internship." The movie sees the man-boys competing with the world's best and brightest for the few full-time positions at Google. But what is it about Google that makes it so special? Here's all you need to know about the company before you hit theaters this weekend. Hint: It's so much more than a search engine.
1) They have nap pods: Honestly, do I need to tell you more? "No workplace is complete without a nap pod," David Radcliffe, vice president of Google's Real Estate & Workplace Services, told CBS News earlier this year. "We found that the five-minute to 15 minute power nap, works on Sunday before you watch the football game, why not here at work?"
2) Their Zurich offices feature a firepole, a slide, and foam-filled meditation bathtubs: Among other swanky amenities. Don't believe me? Follow the link for photos.
3) They test the impact of paint colors on their employees' psyches: "We actually get a negative response out of [a purple] color so you probably won't see it popping up in other parts of the company," Radcliffe explained. "I don't know what it is. I actually like the color myself, but it doesn't work in the work environment." No hospital green for Google workers!
4) Dogs are allowed in the workplace: But not cats. Just read about it in Google's Code of Conduct: "Google's affection for our canine friends is an integral facet of our corporate culture. We like cats, but we're a dog company, so as a general rule we feel cats visiting our offices would be fairly stressed out."
5) There's a company dinosaur: His name is Stan and of course he's a T. rex. You can see him here — or just visit Google's headquarters in Mountain View.
Will you be seeing The Internship?
