Being a boyfriend-stealer is sooo 2010. Former "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari has much to be proud of these days -- from giving birth to the cutest little munchkin everrr, to her bangin' new post-baby bod, to a wedding on the way with future hubby, Chicago Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler. Now a resident of Chicago, she has stepped away from the madness of Hollywood, but has managed to keep her career going full throttle.
From a new jewelry line and shoe collection to using her voice to shine light on diabetes, she is re-defining what it means to be a working mom. We managed to pull her away from it all to chat about Jay's foundation, GMOs, and her upcoming charity party!
MTV ACT: According to our pals at Do Something nearly 8.3 percent of the U.S. population has diabetes. Tell us a little about Jay's foundation and why together you are so passionate about this cause?
KRISTIN: Jay gears his foundation towards underprivileged kids with diabetes. The purpose of the foundation is to let these kids know they aren't alone and even with diabetes there is nothing they can't achieve. Over the years, we've been able to help start a diabetes camp near Jay's hometown, provide scholarships for diabetes camps, facilitate diabetes screenings for kids and donate towards finding a cure.
MTV ACT: Next month, you will be hosting an 80's themed charity party for The Jay Cutler Foundation. What can one expect if they attend this special event?
KRISTIN: We just want people to dress up, dance, and have a good time. I've noticed that people have more fun at costume parties, so we thought 80's would be a blast.
MTV ACT: Health seems to be a priority after having baby Camden. I have noticed on Twitter you have been tweeting about the food industry and GMO's. Have you ever considered jetting off to DC to try lobby against it?
KRISTIN: I would absolutely love to! I am so passionate about how corrupt our food industry is that I would be willing to do anything.
MTV ACT: If you could create any foundation, what would be the main cause to support?
KRISTIN: I would create a foundation that taught people about what we are putting in our bodies. Everything from food to medicine. Health is something I take very seriously and am extremely passionate about. I don't think most people have access to information about real, genuine health. They only know what the food industry tells them.
MTV ACT: How has life been away from Los Angeles and now spending much of your time in Chicago?
KRISTIN: It's been great! I feel much more relaxed and have a very normal life. I no longer have to worry about paparazzi every day, which is amazing!
