After the first trailer for James Wan's supernatural horror flick, "The Conjuring," came out of nowhere and scared the crap out of anyone who saw it, a new poster for the film, which stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators, continues the movie's usage of smart, creepy imagery to sell itself.

It's refreshing to see a horror movie rely on simple, arresting pictures to get us interested. It's absolutely working.

Official synopsis:

Starring Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Foy and Joey King, the Warner Bros. release is based on the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Wilson, Farmiga), world renowned paranormal investigators, who were called to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most horrifying case of their lives.

"The Conjuring" opens on July 19.
