"Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life" will be debuting on MTV April 23 at 11/10c, and we're all wondering if the documentary-style show will highlight Ke$ha's love of animals. (And I'm not just talking her fans!) In fact, this last weekend the "C'Mon" singer was honored for her dedication to animal rights.
Looks like she traded glitter and grunge for some cute animal clothes! She Tweeted:
thank u I ❤ u RT @humanesociety: After a standing ovation, @keshasuxx poses backstage with her award: #GenesisAwards twitter.com/HumaneSociety/…

Each year the Humane Society of the United States puts on The Genesis Awards Benefit Gala to celebrate people in the news and entertainment worlds who are using their platforms to help animals. The tail-wagging night was hosted by "Dancing with the Stars" judge and cat-lover Carrie Ann Inaba, who uses her Crib Cat vids to find kitties loving new homes.
Ke$ha was one of the stars for the evening when she received the Wyler Award, which goes to celebs or public figures who use the media to spread their animal-issues messages. Past recipients include Ian Somerhalder, Ellen DeGeneres and Hayden Panettiere, so our girl is def in good company!
Looking over Ke$ha's animal-helping résumé, you can see why she got this honor. She's the Humane Society International's first Global Ambassador for animals, and has spoken out about things like dogfighting, shark-finning, trophy-hunting endangered lions and Canada's seal slaughter. And at MTV Act, we're definitely no strangers to highlighting Ke$ha's Sweet Tweets that involve animal rights.
Ke$ha's life may be crazy and beautiful, but somewhere in there she makes sure to have time to help her animals... fans or otherwise!
