When we heard Rebel Wilson was in talks to star in the final "Hunger Games" movie, we were too excited to process it. Now that we've started breathing normally, we're finally ready to start freaking out.
The "Pitch Perfect" star and host of the upcoming MTV Movie Awards (April 14 it's on!!!) has been in some big movies already, but it's safe to say her rumored role in "Mockingjay" will be one of her most important roles yet. When Rebel was asked if we would ever see her in the "Hunger Games" movies, she shocked us all by admitting that she had already been approached about a role! She admitted that "there aren't a lot of roles open, because they've all already been cast, but that would be awesome. I'd love to be in 'The Hunger Games.'"
Here are our top three reasons to trip (in a good way) about Rebel's potential "Hunger Games" role:
+ The Role Itself
Who will she be? What will she wear?! Although we don't know much about her involvement in the project, we do know that Wilson would be cast as a member of the Capitol. We're holding out hope that we'll see our girl as Tigris, the former stylist and owner of a fur shop that plays a pivotal role in Katniss conquering the Capitol. Tigris and Rebel both have unique names and are fierce women who make moves! And speaking of fierce ladies....
+ Jennifer Lawrence + Rebel Wilson = Best Movie Ever
Sure, we haven't even seen "Catching Fire" yet, but that doesn't mean we can't look forward to the next movie in the series, right? Just thinking about seeing Jennifer Lawrence and Rebel in the same movie is making the wait a little more bearable. I mean, they both have a killer sense of humor and aren't obsessed with a perfect body image. Rebel shows us that real women have curves and said JLaw about her role as Katniss, "I'm never going to starve myself for a part...I don't want little girls to be like, 'Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I'm going to skip dinner. That's something I was really conscious of during training, when you're trying to get your body to look exactly right. I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong -- not thin and underfed."
+ Rebel's Promotion Of The Film
Call us cray, but we're most excited for the weeks and months leading up to the "Mockingjay" premiere. Can you imagine all of Wilson's "Hunger Games"-related promos and spoofs we'll get to watch? We can see it now: she can volunteer to save the world with her favorite non-profits, maybe even adopting 24 puppies as tributes. We just hope she doesn't share them with Melissa McCarthy. It would raise awareness for adoption AND promote her new movie. Are you reading this, Wilson? We've got ideas! Call us.
