Lauren Bush Lauren really wants to "FEED" America, guys. To promote her eagerly anticipated FEED USA + Target collaboration, Lauren is visiting food banks across the United States.
The collaboration, inspired by all things Americana, is set to hit stores on June 30. The products range in price from $3 to $400, and each item will have a number on it that corresponds to the number of meals it will provide.
The FEED Projects founder and Target aren't just going to turn out amazing products, though: the collaboration is going to benefit Feeding America, "the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity." The goal is simple: sell amazing products while also donating at least 10 million meals to Americans who are food insecure, relying on food banks, food stamps, and soup kitchens for their meals.
Lauren and Target are on a five city road trip across America to "look at the needs of Americans who struggle with food insecurity" while also profiling the organizations that help them. In the video below, Lauren traveled to San Francisco, where one in four residents are in need of food assistance. She visited local Feeding America food banks which will distribute "45 million pounds of food this year, 60% of which will be fresh produce."
If you're wondering why hunger in America is such a big concern, know this: 50 million Americans are considered food insecure. You can learn more about hunger in America from Feeding America.
Make sure to shop the Target collection when it launches this June. If you want to get more involved in the fight against hunger, drop by your local food bank and see how you can help or take action with our trusty widgets below!
