By this point in the season, we all know D-Real's dream is to bring peace to the streets of Oakland through dance. But what does he dream about at night? That's exactly what Andrew Jenks wanted to know in this week's deleted scene.
When Jenks asks D-Real about his dreams, D-Real admits that he has trouble sleeping. Jenks brings up the idea that D-Real might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which many Oakland youth are dealing with after having their brothers and sisters killed.
For those who don't know, PTSD is "an anxiety disorder that some people get after seeing or living through a dangerous event." According to the National Institute of Mental Health, people who have PTSD "may feel stressed or frightened even when they're no longer in danger." It's important to note, though, that some people, like D-Real, can get PTSD after a "sudden, unexpected death of a loved one." Watch the deleted scene below to hear D-Real explain to Jenks what the disorder is like for him.
